Phillips Payson is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer currently located on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Originally from the east coast, Phillips studied Transmedia at Syracuse University. Phillips lived and worked in New York City at the post production house Deluxe New York before moving to Hawaii to pursue independent filmmaking. He is the director of the award-winning dark comedy Throuple, as well as the Hawaiian documentary Aloha From Lavaland and short film the Bone of a Whale. When not capturing creative content for himself or his clients, Phillips works as the Technical Director for the Hawaii International Film Festival.
